Cretacolor

Cretacolor has been made at Hainburg an der Donau in Austria since 1790, and the range still reflects that focus: dry drawing media done properly rather than a little of everything. The Nero sticks and pencils are the signature product, an oil-based black that behaves like charcoal but holds a sharp edge and will not smudge into mud.

What we stock

Our Cretacolor range covers charcoal and graphite, woodless Monolith graphite, artist pencils and boxed drawing sets. Woodless graphite is worth knowing about if you shade large areas, since the whole barrel is the drawing surface and you can work with the side of the stick.
