Painting & Drawing Surfaces Online in India

The surface decides more of the result than most beginners expect. Weight tells you whether a sheet will cockle when it gets wet: below about 300gsm, watercolour paper needs stretching or a block. Texture decides how a mark sits — rough paper breaks a dry brushstroke into sparkle, hot pressed keeps a line crisp for pen and detail, cold press sits between the two and is the safe default. On canvas, the equivalent question is priming: acrylic-primed canvas takes both acrylic and oil, oil-primed takes only oil.
