Stationerie Filbert Brush Set of 7 Mangosta, 11 Inch Long Handle

Long-handled filberts in Mangosta synthetic, made for working at an easel. The 11 inch handle is not a styling choice: it puts your hand far enough back from the surface that you paint from the shoulder and can see the whole canvas while you work. Short handles pull you in close, which is why easel painters and muralists use these.

Mangosta filament imitates mongoose hair — stiffer than a watercolour synthetic, with the snap needed to move heavy-body acrylic and oil, and the rounded filbert tip that leaves a soft edge instead of a square one.

Best for

• Easel and large-format canvas work
• Oil, acrylic and mixed media
• Blending, glazing and building texture

Specification

• Set of seven filberts
• Mangosta synthetic filament, a mongoose-hair imitation
• 11 inch long handles
• Handmade in our Kolkata workshop

Clean out oil with a solvent or brush cleaner, never leave a brush standing in the jar, and dry it flat. See the brush buying guide, or browse all flat and filbert brushes.

Unmatched Water Holding – Absorbs and releases water more evenly than many natural hair brushes

Consistent Flow – Allows controlled, streak-free washes without sudden paint drops

Shape Memory Technology – Retains perfect points and edges even after heavy use

Ethical & Vegan – No animal hair, yet indistinguishable in feel from genuine squirrel

Stationerie Filbert Brush Set of 5 – Velour Mix Media (Sizes 2, 4, 6, 8, 10)

A handmade filbert set in Velour mix-media filament. The filbert sits between a flat and a round: it blocks in like a flat but its rounded corners leave a soft stroke end, so petals, leaves, figures and any organic form come out without a hard square edge to blend away afterwards.

Best for

• Petals, foliage, portraits and soft-edged organic shapes
• Blending, layering and natural transitions
• Watercolour, gouache, acrylic and oil

Specification

• Five filberts: sizes 2, 4, 6, 8 and 10
• Velour synthetic filament — smooth, durable and water-responsive
• 9 inch wooden handles, balanced for easel and table work
• Metal ferrules
• True European sizing
• Handmade in Kolkata, India by Stationerie Originals

Rinse before the colour sets, reshape the head damp and dry it flat rather than resting on the bristles.
