Stationerie
Stationerie: the things we make ourselves
Most art shops sell other people's products. Stationerie makes its own. This collection is everything that carries our name — built in our Kolkata workshop and sold direct, which is why a professional-grade tool here costs a fraction of the imported equivalent.
Brushes
Our core craft. More than 60 artisan brushmakers produce around five lakh brushes a month by hand: rounds and liners for detail, mops for washes, flats and filberts for oil and acrylic, fans for texture, wash and hake for scale. Filaments run from Kolinsky-type and squirrel-type synthetic on German filament to natural Chungking hog bristle and white goat.
Shop the brush range — or read how and where they are made.
Paper
Our Dot handmade watercolour paper, deckle-edged and made in India at 265gsm and 300gsm, in A4, A5 and full 30 x 22 inch sheets. Shop handmade paper.
Studio
Wooden palettes, canvas, wood slices, painting sponges, brush holders and the working tools that get used daily and replaced often — the things worth buying at maker prices rather than brand prices.
