Sennelier binds l'Aquarelle with honey rather than gum arabic alone. That is not marketing: honey is hygroscopic, so the paint holds moisture, rewets almost instantly in the pan and does not crack or crumble the way a dry gum-arabic pan does in a hot climate. It also stays slightly tacky, which is why the pans feel different under the brush.

What that means in practice

In Indian heat and humidity this is a genuine advantage over pans that dry hard and shatter. The trade-off is that honey paint lifts more readily, so glazing over a dry layer needs a lighter touch than with a resin-heavy watercolour. Buy tubes if you work large and wet; buy pans for travel and studies.
