Kolinsky synthetic is our closest answer to natural Kolinsky sable: a fine German filament that holds a sharp point, springs back cleanly and carries a good load of colour, without the cost or the animal hair. It is the filament we recommend for watercolour detail, botanical and miniature work, and for anyone who wants sable behaviour from a vegan brush.
